Diabetic Autonomic Neuropathies

Autonomic neuropathy is a common complication of diabetes mellitus that can cause to increased risk of mortality and morbidity. Gastroparesis, erectile dysfunction (impotance), diabetic diarrhea, diabetic cystopathy and orthostatic hypotension are common encountered ones. Since autonomic neuropathy progresses slowly and can affect many organs, it is recognised usually lately both by the patient and by the doctor.
