Diabetic neuropathy most frequently influence third, fourth and sixth cranial nerves. There is painful ophthalmoplegy localized periorbital and frontal area, ptosis and diplopia in the patient with oculomotor nerve palsy. Pupils are often normal and this point is used to separate from other ophthalmoplegy. The cause of pain is uncertain, but ischemic causes may be responsible. There are some reporters that the other cranial neuropathies increased in diabetics, but the data are insufficient. Keywords: Diabetic neuropathy, cranial nerve, ophthalmoplegyTurkiye Klinikleri J Endocrin-Special Topics 2008, 1(1):12-15
